There was no great suspense on Wednesday evening because the names of the 16 selections qualified for the round of 16 of CAN 2025/26 were already known.

Morocco, host country, has validated its ticket and will face Tanzania. Nigeria and Algeria are the only selections to have had plenty of victories. Ivory Coast, title holders, will be able to continue the defense of their title while Cameroon and Senegal will also be present in the next round.
The favorites will be faithful to the meeting. Indeed, all members of hat 1 (Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Ivory Coast) and hat 2 (Cameroon, Mali, Tunisia, South Africa, DR Congo, Burkina Faso) during the draw will be present in the next round. The complete ranking of each group after the 3rd day of CAN 2025/26
- In group A: The host country, Morocco (7 points), is ahead of Mali (3 points). Comoros and Zambia are eliminated with 2 points on the clock.
- In group B: Egypt (7 points) and South Africa (6 points) are logically qualified. Angola (2 points) and Zimbabwe leave the competition.
- In group C: Tunisia validated its ticket by drawing against Tanzania in Rabat (1-1). She joins Nigeria, first in her group after her success against Uganda (1-3). Tanzania is among the best 3rd (2 points) while Uganda (1 point) returns to the country.
- In group D: Senegal, DR Congo (both with 7 points) and Benin (3 points) are qualified for the round of 16 in this tough group. Botswana leaves the CAN.
- In group E: Algeria finished first in its group without being afraid, with a full card (9 points). Burkina Faso (2nd, with 6 points) and Sudan (3rd with 3 points) are qualified. Equatorial Guinea was eliminated following its defeat against Sudan on the 2nd day (0-1).
- In group F: Ivory Coast (1st with 7 points), Cameroon (2nd with 7 points) and Mozambique (3rd with 3 points) are qualified. Gabon lost against Ivory Coast on the last day but was already eliminated.
