1. BC Wipperfeld narrowly lost the away game at 1. BC Saarbrücken-Bischmisheim 3:4 despite a fighting performance. On the Wipperfelder side there were a few absences due to international tournaments, among other things, which is why Kajsa van Dalm and Léo van Gysel
from the Wipperfelder Reserve supported the first division team on this match day. Even if
It is not possible for either of them to win against the competition from 1. BC Saarbrücken-Bischmisheim
enough, their performances were still impressive.
The women’s singles between Kaloyana Nalbantova and Kajsa van Dalm developed into one
Intense four-set match, which Nalbantova won 9:11, 12:10, 11:7 and 11:6 for Bischmisheim
decided. In the first men’s singles, Léo van Gysel tried to win after losing the first set
to hold on with all his might, but he was unable to defeat the superior Mark Caljouw (11:5,
11:9, 11:8).
The first men’s doubles (5:11, 9:11, 12:14) and the women’s doubles (6:11, 6:11, 5:11) started
the 1st BC Wipperfeld. The hosts, however, won the second men’s doubles in three sets
(11:5, 11:4, 11:7). Christopher Grimley and Thuc Phuong had to compete in the mixed doubles
Nguyen (BCW) suffered a clear defeat against Frederik Søgaard and Isabel Lohau
(11:3, 11:6, 11:6).
For the 2nd men’s singles, Matthew Grimley replaced Aaron Sonnenschein on the Wipperfeld side
substituted. After two hard-fought sets (12:10, 12:14), Marvin Seidel from 1. BC Saarbrücken-Bischmisheim gave up, so the point went to BCW.
Despite the defeat, 1. BC Wipperfeld showed a good team performance today. Especially the two young players Léo van Gysel and Kajsa van Dalm, who are usually there
pitching for the BCW in the 2nd Bundesliga North, took valuable experience with them from Saarbrücken for future tasks.
On Sunday, February 8th, 2026, the BCW will welcome 1. BV Mülheim in the Wipperfürth VOSS Arena at 11 a.m.
