The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) validated this Monday, January 26, the selection of the last 35 athletes chosen by their Federation. The very first list was revealed on December 23 with no less than 73 names, before a second salvo of 52 French athletes last Tuesday.
The (small) surprise comes from alpine skiing with the absence of Alexis Pinturault, triple Olympic medalist. The 34-year-old skier, far from his best level this season, was not selected among the seven men’s quotas available to France. In his place, Steven Amiez, Léo Anguenot, Clément Noël and Paco Rassat are selected for the technical event and Nils Allègre, Nils Alphand and the incredible Maxence Muzaton for the speed event.
In ski jumping, France gave up one of its three women’s quotas but obtained one in men’s jump-pipe (awarded to Vincent Maharavo), a third men’s quota for the Nordic combined event and an eighth in men’s cross-country skiing.

The complete list of French biathletes had already been known for a week when the last three names of Jeanne Richard, Emilien Claude and Oscar Lombardot joined those of their nine compatriots announced in December: Camille Bened, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Lou Jeanmonnot, Océane Michelon, Julia Simon, Fabien Claude, Quentin Fillon Maillet, Emilien Jacquelin and Éric Perrot.
All athletes validated by the CNOSF will be engaged from February 6 to 22 in northern Italy for these last Winter Games before those at home in 2030.
