On a national tour through several southern provinces of the country, a delegation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, led by Minister Maïdé Hamit Lony, stayed in Moundou, capital of the Western Logone province. This mission has already led the ministerial delegation to Sarh (Moyen-Chari), Koumra (Mandoul) and Doba (Logone Oriental).
In Moundou, the minister and his entourage began their program with a working meeting with local leaders, under the leadership of the government’s general delegate to the province. At the end of the discussions, the ministerial delegation attended an exhibition match played at the Moundou municipal field.
This sporting event was marked by the official handover of a large batch of sports equipment to the provincial delegation of Youth and Sports of Western Logone. The donation includes footballs and basketballs, sets of jerseys and trophies.
By handing over this equipment, the Minister of Youth and Sports urged the beneficiaries to use it responsibly. He stressed that the Western Logone province is full of numerous talents on which the government intends to rely for the development of Chadian sport. “We are aware of the lack of sports equipment and infrastructure. We will work to provide solutions adapted to the province,” he assured.
The minister also specified that this mission aims to see first-hand the difficulties faced by local sports stakeholders. “We came with equipment to express the government’s support for sport, because the needs are real. We will work to promote Chadian sport,” he added.
