According to the ‘Bild’ the table must be 15th. But then score at least one point, otherwise Steffen’s days will be numbered. Werder was unable to win the last nine games and only got three points from those games.

Fritz emphasizes: “We are already aware of the situation we are in. Nevertheless, we remain calm internally, we continue to work on the issues. I see how Horst and his coaching team work intensively with the team day after day, always giving them solutions. That’s the crucial thing.”

Should Werder continue to hold on to Steffen?

Steffen came to Bremen from SV Elversberg in the summer and his points average from 20 competitive games is 0.95. “We have to get out of this together and I am convinced that we will do that”said Fritz. Be it “A long way to go and a lot of hard work, but we will tackle it.”
