Spurs and Timberwolves, Wembanyama and Edwards offered a spectacular end to the match in San Antonio for a 126 to 123 success for the Spurs.
The 22-year-old Frenchman blazed with 39 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks, including three baskets in a row behind the arc in the 2nd quarter, his team taking a 25-point lead.
“Wemby” showed his full offensive range with a « drive » powerful, or a double giant step (2.24 m) to reach the basket after having made a defender jump.
But the leaping Anthony Edwards propelled his team’s comeback in the 3rd quarter, compiling 55 points at 9 of 16 from distance. « Ant man » was as usual excellent in the last minutes, breathtaking.
The Wolves regained the advantage three times, but Wembanyama at mid-distance then Keldon Johnson from afar definitively validated the success of the locals, second in the West (29v-13d).
In the absence of Rudy Gobert, French rookie Joan Beringer showed up with the Wolves, compiling 10 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists while defending with aplomb against Wembanyama.
. The Ruthless Pistons

The Celtics are second in the East (26v-15l) while they cannot count on Jayson Tatum this season, victim of a ruptured Achilles tendon last spring.
