Wembanyama & Spurs Fall to Hornets in Snow-Delayed NBA Game

It was probably a little too early for Spurs. This Saturday, Victor Wembanyama’s team had to get up at dawn to face the Charlotte Hornets. A snowstorm swept across North Carolina, causing the match to be moved up to noon local time, three hours ahead of schedule. And this change worked for the Hornets, who won after a strong second quarter.

In the major five opposite his compatriot Moussa Diabaté, who is currently shining with Charlotte, “Wemby” had a timid match. Clumsy, he failed in any of his three three-point attempts, ultimately scoring only 16 points. The result of a failed first half, with only four small points, and a disappointing end to the match, with an overused three-point shot while his team could return to equality.

On the other side of the floor, Brandon Miller and Collin Sexton carried the Hornets in great shape. With 26 and 21 points respectively, they allowed Charles Lee’s team to achieve a sixth consecutive victory. Charlotte notably beat Philadelphia, Memphis and Dallas during this great series. Moussa Diabaté also played a very good game, with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in 33 minutes of play.

Conversely, the San Antonio Spurs continue to be on alternating current, with only two wins in the last five games. Brilliant against Houston and Utah, the Texans missed out against New Orleans and this Saturday against Charlotte. Despite everything, they remain third in the Western Conference, behind Oklahoma City and Denver.
