[Reuters]- Victor Wembaneyama of the NBA Spurs injured his knee during a game, but said he has no plans to miss the game.

Wenbanyama landed in an awkward position while attempting a rebound during a game against the Knicks on December 31st. He remained on the ground until teammate Stephon Castle helped him up and then headed to the locker room. He then returned to the bench, but did not play.

According to ESPN, a major US sports network, Wenbanyama commented after the match, “I think he will be able to play in the next game.” The athlete said, “I tried to return to the game, but I was stopped. It’s just hyperextension, so the effects should be minimal. I’ll take a test tomorrow (January 1) to make sure there’s no problem.”

Wenbanyama played 24 minutes before being replaced against the Knicks and had 31 points and 13 rebounds. He has played in 21 games this season, averaging 24.3 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He missed 12 games from November 16th to December 10th due to left calf strain.
