The Giannis Antetokounmpo situation continues to shake the entire NBA. Now officially placed on the exchange market, the double MVP logically attracts the attention of ambitious franchises. Among them, Golden State is advancing its pawns with a particularly aggressive proposal.
For several weeks, the Warriors have been identified as one of the most insistent contenders in this matter. The title window around Stephen Curry and Draymond Green is narrowing, and the California organization appears ready to sacrifice a large part of its future to attempt one last major shot.
According to several sources, Golden State has now clarified its offer to Milwaukee. A heavy package, structured around a confirmed All-Star, promising young talents and a substantial stock of draft choices, would have been put on the table in order to convince the Bucks to turn the page on Giannis.
A massive offer built around Jimmy Butler
According to information revealed by Evan Sidery, the Warriors would be able to set up a direct two-franchise trade with Milwaukee. “The Warriors can make a straight two-team trade with the Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo. This is an advantage for Golden State compared to the Heat and the Knicks »he explains, before detailing the proposal. “Golden State’s package would consist of Jimmy Butler, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski and their entire available draft picks”.
This offer marks a clear change of posture. Long reluctant to include Jimmy Butler in discussions, the Bay organization would now be ready to move forward without restraint. Injured and out for the rest of the season, the winger no longer represents the same short-term sporting guarantee for Golden State.
The objective remains clear: maintain a window of immediate competitiveness around Curry. With Butler unavailable, the Warriors see a trade for Antetokounmpo as keeping them in the title race, despite the long-term sacrifices it entails.
This requirement would be clear: either premium young talent, or a massive volume of draft picks, or both. A wait that could encourage the Bucks to procrastinate until the summer. “By waiting until the offseason, Milwaukee could also see which teams will be able to offer more attractive draft picks in June”adds Charania.
