Quiet in the first period.
But in the second, Modo only needed 19 seconds.
Jesper Olofsson opened the scoring for Modo in the 2-1 victory.
After a short break in the first period of the match, the meeting between Vimmerby and Modo was uneventful.
By the time the players were ready for period number two, the game was no longer so tentative.
After just 19 seconds on the ice, Jesper Olofsson took the chance and scored his 13th goal of the season, on a pass from Elton Hermansson and Måns Carlsson.

It was Elton Hermansson who proved to be important for Modo in Wednesday’s clash.
Eight minutes after he assisted Olofsson, he got himself on the scoresheet – just 53 seconds after Vimmerby had taken a timeout.
Vimmerby got a consolation goal in the third period, through Hugo Lejon. But the forcing in the final minutes was not enough for the home team.
– It gets unnecessarily exciting at the end. We are not smart enough in the decisions so they get too many chances on us, otherwise we make an okay effort, three points is three points, says Hermansson in TV4.
The match was broken
Just over five minutes into the clash, the referee blew the match off in Vimmerby. An uproar was heard from the stands after a case of illness occurred in the VBO Arena.
About two minutes after the referee blew the match off, players and managers were given the go-ahead to step into the dressing rooms.
Twelve minutes later, it was announced on TV4’s broadcast that the person who fell ill in the stands had been taken to hospital.
At the same time, players, managers and referees made their way back to the rink and the game could start again.
Borrow gold forward
During the match, it became clear that Modo is bringing in the 20-year-old forward David Granberg from Luleå. Granberg has had difficulty getting a place in the Luleå squad since the SM gold last year and joins Modo on waivers.
This means he can go back and forth between the clubs until the February 15 transfer deadline.
With the victory, Modo remains in third place in the hockey Allsvenskan. Vimmerby slips down and becomes second jumbo with Västerås’ victory against Troja Ljungby.
