Veteran SM Wins: Swedish Volleyball GP Recap

The Veteran SM has been arranged in Uppsala since time immemorial. Since 2018, the championship is also a central part of the huge and annually recurring GP party in Fyrishov, where participating youth, elite players and veterans together show that volleyball is a sport for life. Thanks in large part to volleyball’s stalwarts, the Grand Prix has established itself as one of Swedish Volleyball’s biggest meeting places.

For the 2026 edition, a total of 23 teams have registered for participation in three different competition classes; D35+, H35+ and H50+. That is three more teams than last year and means that the veterans once again dominate the GP party in terms of the number of participants.

Game schedules are now posted and available on this page! Link to other website. Link to other website, opens in new window.

If we take a look at the registered teams, we see, among other things, that several old champion teams are ready to challenge for titles. We also note that host Uppsala is represented in both +35 classes, and that Norwegian Spirit Lørenskog is back and is putting a small but not insignificant international mark on our Swedish championship.

We wish all veteran teams the best of luck with this weekend’s power test!
