Just a little while and then it will be done Red Bull Racing has announced the car for the upcoming Formula 1 season. The team from Milton Keynes will launch the car on January 15 Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar presenting in Detroit. Reportedly, Red Bull – which builds the engine together with Ford – does not have the much-discussed compression tool Mercedes.
Due to the drastic change in regulations in F1, all teams will compete with completely new cars. With the new engines, active aerodynamics and a different chassis, the ground effect cars will be said goodbye to and new cars will be able to be admired on the grid.
Best engine Mercedes?
There were rumors from the paddock that Mercedes will, in all likelihood, have one of the better cars. George Russell a Andrea Kimi Antonelli can therefore dream of their first world title in the premier class of motor racing.
Mercedes is said to owe this to an alleged trick in the engine. The team from Brackley – which was largely supreme in the hybrid era from 2014 – must have found something in the power source that allowed them Ferrari, Red Bull, Audi in Honda would be too quick. According to rumors, they have now managed to get the compression ratio, which was originally 16:1, to 18:1 without breaking the rules. This should give Russell and Antonelli no less than 15 hp more.
‘Red Bull is missing the point’
If the Italian media have their way, Red Bull missed the mark during the development of the engine. According to the Italian branch of AutoRacer, the Red Bull Powertrains engine is therefore unable to match the level of the Mercedes.
The Italian medium reports that the FIA has received many complaints from Mercedes’ competitors. Audi in particular – which is reportedly the furthest behind the rest – is said to be not happy with the actions of the team Toto Wolff. More will become clear in a few weeks, when the first tests will take place.
