The hope of Can Uzun returning at the start of the Bundesliga second half of the season has been fulfilled. Eintracht Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller announced the return of the offensive top performer in a media interview before matchday 18.
Uzun was out during the week due to ankle problems. However, Toppmöller revealed on Thursday that he has now trained again and is “accordingly back in the squad”.
The timing is right: While Uzun returns, position competitor Mario Götze (ill) is now out. However, it is not certain that the returnee will be able to play right from the start.
