Unión took an important step in the third round of the Regional Amateur Tournament by winning 2-0 against Peñaflor, in the first leg played at the 12 de Octubre Stadium in Rawson. With an effective first half, the blue team achieved a key advantage for the rematch.
From the start, the local team came out determined to propose and take the initiative, although Peñaflor also had his opportunities and showed moments of good play. However, the development of the match began to tilt when Unión found the goals that made the difference and generated some desperation on the visit.
The person in charge of opening the scoring was Catriel Weyreuter, while Agustín Torres extended the lead before the end of the first stage, giving peace of mind to the local team.
In the second half, the process was more balanced and, despite the intentions of both, the scoreboard did not move again. Unión knew how to maintain the difference and closed the match with a solid victory.
Now, the series will be defined in San Martín, on the Canario field, where Peñaflor will seek to reverse the result and Unión will try to seal its classification.
