Alessandro Vergani, Jermaine Guynn and Marco Steinbach are gradually reinforcing the coaching staff/player squad
The Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns are looking forward to strengthening their coaching staff. A former unicorn, Alessandro Vergani, is returning to the Kocherstadt. In addition to Vergani, Jermaine Guynn and Marco Steinbach also come to Hall from Stuttgart with further coaching experience.
Alessandro Vergani only ended his playing career last fall. The O-liner played for Haller between 2018 and 2022 and now wants to pass on his experiences to the next generation of players. He can look back on a very successful playing career with national and international titles. “Alessandro’s desire to play football successfully has been impressively demonstrated in his career as a player. This intention will not change for him as a coach,” said head coach Felix Brenner. The offensive coordinator is looking forward to Vergani as a coach now having an influence on the Unicorns players and enriching the coaching staff. Vergani will support Florian Günter and Nico Schäfer in working with the offensive line.
The defense is also getting reinforcements with Jermaine Guynn and Marco Steinbach in the ranks of the coaches. The American Guynn, who completed his college career at the University of Purdue, has already completed several positions in Europe as both a player and coach. The former D-Liner of the Stuttgart Scorpions felt very honored when the Unicorns asked him for the new season: “Schwäbisch Hall has been one of the largest organizations in Europe for years and has proven how you can successfully develop as a club.” Defensive coordinator Cody Pastorino is also overjoyed to be able to work with Guynn and Maximilian Mörk on the defensive line for the upcoming season: “He will help us maximize our potential.”
Marco Steinbach will take over the outside linebacker position group together with Mike Freckmann. After stints as a coach in Reutlingen and Stuttgart, he is now looking forward to his involvement in Schwäbisch Hall: “I really want to help build the most dominant defense in the GFL.” Pastorino has also worked with Steinbach before. He particularly appreciates his work in dealing with the players “to get the best out of them,” said the defensive coordinator.
Last but not least, it should also be mentioned that the Unicorns’ squad planning is gradually in its final stages. A large part of last year’s squad was retained and occasionally supplemented by our own offspring, returnees or new faces.
In defense, the Hall team are strengthening themselves with, among others, Samuel Wellbrink (DL), Steffen Mirsberger (LB), Lukas Levin (LB), Julian Ludwig Mayorga (DB), Julian Jakob (DB), Lenno Reinhardt (LB) and Daniel Bartmann (DL).
The offensive is getting reinforcements with Pascal Dürr (OL), Iseah Camara (OL), Jan-Luca Jenner (OL), Nick Gröne (OL), Marco Fischer (OL), Alper Peközer (OL), Philip Ledina (WR), Jimmy Sawang (WR) and Joshua Lang (WR), among others.
