French handball players can validate their qualification for the main round of the European handball championship from this Saturday, January 17 if they win against Ukraine, an affordable opponent, for their second match of the competition in Oslo, Norway.
Deprived of Nedim Remili forfeiting the competition, Guillaume Gille’s players successfully entered the competition by defeating the Czech Republic (42-28) on Thursday evening.
Title holders, the French team must stock up on points before the big test of their group C against Norway at home and above all to reassure themselves for the rest of the tournament. The Blues will once again have to do without Hugo Descat, injured in the ankle and already spared in the first match, and hope that their center half Aymeric Minne, injured in the thigh in the second half against the Czechs, will be able to hold his place against the Ukrainians.
