Victoria City, Tam.; January 24, 2026.

The Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT) held the First Multidisciplinary Research Colloquium in Social Work, Psychology and Health, a space where graduate students presented the progress of their thesis projects.

The colloquium took place on January 21 and 22, at the Academic Unit of Social Work and Sciences for Human Development (UATSCDH), and was aimed at students of the Master’s Degree in Clinical and Health Psychology and the Master’s Degree in Sciences with an Orientation in Social Work.

The event, which had as its central theme the theme “Integrated perspectives for human well-being and sustainable development”, was launched by the director of the UATSCDH, Blanca Guadalupe Cid de León Bujanos, who highlighted the purpose of strengthening critical dialogue, methodological reflection and interdisciplinary exchange around the research processes in which students participate.

The director pointed out that the colloquium reflects the constant commitment of the UAT to the generation of knowledge, critical thinking and scientific research as fundamental axes for social transformation and human well-being.

He pointed out that promoting reflection on topics such as: health, inclusion, diversity, sociocultural development, social intervention and professional ethics allows for strengthening interdisciplinary dialogue, enriching the understanding of problems from a comprehensive and humanistic perspective.

Subsequently, the conference “Peacebuilding through education, some lines of understanding and action” was held, given by Dr. Marcos Jacobo Estrada Ruiz, researcher at the University of Guanajuato.

The speaker stressed the importance of working to build peace through education and asserted that, from his experience, with small actions in the classrooms a contribution can be made to achieve lasting peace.

Likewise, he spoke about the concepts that are related to peace education and shared the studies he has carried out in relation to this topic.
