ANKARA (AA) – Türk Telekom Basketball Club President Savtekin Şentürk participated in the “Shots of the Year” voting, which included photographs of the events that marked 2025 from the eyes of Anadolu Agency (AA).
In the competition organized under the sponsorship of Şentürk, Lifebox, AJet and Roketsan, AA photojournalists and correspondents examined 112 photographs in a total of 6 categories that resonated on the agenda of Türkiye and the world in 2025.
Şentürk voted for Ahmed Jihad Ibrahim Al-arini’s photograph titled “The child suffering from malnutrition in Gaza is in danger of death” in the “Gaza: Hunger” special category, while he chose Mehmet Futsi’s photograph “Hidden face” in the “Portrait” special category.
In the “Sports” category, Şentürk voted for Mehmet Futsi’s “Swimmer” photograph, and in the “Natural Life and Environment” category, he preferred Beytullah Eles’ photograph “A castle in the sky”.
While the president of the blue-white club, Savtekin Şentürk, chose Cem Özdel’s photograph titled “Operation” in the “Daily Life” category, he voted for Ali Jadallah’s photograph titled “Oppression Continues” in the “News” category.
The competition, which has been organized by AA since 2012, this year includes 4 main categories: “News”, “Natural Life and Environment”, “Sports” and “Daily Life”, as well as 2 special categories titled “Gaza: Hunger” and “Portrait”.
Participants in the worldwide voting, which is held with Turkish and English subtitles, can vote for as many photos as they want.
Voting will continue on the “yilinkareleri.aa.com.tr” website until Saturday, January 31, at 17:00.
