(MHA) Turgutlu Municipality Women’s Basketball Team, which experienced the excitement of the Halkbank Women’s Federation Cup, achieved a significant success by eliminating its strong rival Fenerbahçe Gelişim. The red and black team started the quarter-final match played at Istanbul Basketball Development Center with high concentration. Turgutlu Belediyespor, which held the score advantage throughout the match, closed the first half ahead 27-33.

Turgutlu representative, who maintained his defensive resistance in the second half and scored points with organized sets in attack, did not allow the gap to be closed. At the end of the match, the score was 59-68 in favor of Turgutlu Municipality, and Manisa’s first and only women’s basketball team had the joy of advancing to the semi-finals of the cup.

Making an evaluation after the match, Turgutlu Municipality Women’s Basketball Team Head Coach İstemihan Örücü stated that they are advancing step by step towards their goals in the cup and said, “We passed the first stage of the Women’s Federation Cup and made it to the semi-finals, we are happy. We have the semi-final match ahead of us, which we will play against Samsun Basketball. In the semi-finals, we will show all our strength on the field and grab the ticket to the final. We will be the ones to lift that cup this year, we believe in it.” he said.

Turgutlu Belediyespor President and Deputy Mayor Hüseyin Maliz said, “We wholeheartedly congratulate our women’s basketball team. We wish them success in the semi-final match they will play on Friday. Our goal is the final and we know that we will first get our name in the final and then we will win that cup.” he said.
