President Donald Trump assured in an exclusive interview with The New York Post who will not attend Super Bowl LX and criticized the artists chosen to entertain during the event, Bad Bunny e Green Daywhich he defined as a “terrible decision” because, in his opinion, they “sow hatred”.
“I’m against them. I think it’s a terrible decision. The only thing they do is sow hatred. Terrible,” he told the media outlet.
The Super Bowl is scheduled for February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, San Francisco Bay Area.
While Trump criticized the music selection, he said that’s not the main reason he plans to skip the game.
Trump attended last year’s event in New Orleans between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles; however, in his conversation with the Postexplained that this year’s Super Bowl seems “too far away” for him and that he would consider going if the trip was shorter.
He also assured that in previous editions he had “excellent people” at the event and that “they had a good time”.
Trump stated that he didn’t like the NFL picking Bad Bunny and Green Day, who he described as contrary to his figure and his agenda, according to the published interview.
In the case of Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican artist has publicly questioned Trump and in one song uses a voice that imitates the president to send a message of apology towards immigrants and Latino communities.
For his part, Green Day vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong expressed his support for the “anti-deportation” protesters and spoke out against the MAGA agenda.
The NFL announced that Bad Bunny will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show at Super Bowl LX, held at Levi’s Stadium, and Green Day will participate in the event’s programming (as part of the opening segment ceremony), along with the Puerto Rican-led halftime show.
However, behind the success there is a decision that surprised Conejo Malo fans: this will be the only concert he gives in the United States in 2026.
In recent publications, Bad Bunny has explained that he has avoided performing in the US for fear that Immigration and Border Protection (ICE) operations would turn his shows into targets for raids against immigrants.
