Don’t close the door on Travis Kelce’s NFL career just yet.
The tight end, who has been elected to the Pro Bowl on 11 occasions, told his brother Jason Kelce on the New Heights podcast that he is open to returning to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 14th season if his body allows it.
“If my body can heal and rest, and I feel confident that I can play another 18, 20, 21 weeks,” the 37-year-old said during the episode recorded before the Chiefs’ final game of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders.
“I think I would without hesitation. I think now I need to find the answers and see how my body feels after week 18.”
A native of Westlake, Ohio, Kelce played in all 17 games for the Chiefs this season. He amassed 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns.
Even though his total yards increased compared to 2024, Kelce fell short of the 1,000-yard plateau for a third straight season.
Although he expressed his desire to return to the game, he made it clear that the decision would not be made quickly.
If Kelce decides to play one more season, he would enter the 2026 campaign 2,125 yards behind Chiefs legend Tony Gonzalez for most receiving yards by a tight end.
However, he could overtake Dallas Cowboys legend Jason Witten at second, as he only misses 43 yards.
During his career, Kelce totaled 1,080 receptions, 13,002 yards and 82 touchdowns in 182 games.
