Transfer Targets: Rumours & Club Interest

Ayoub Oufkir looks back with a good feeling on his debut at AZ against FC Volendam (1-0). The twenty-year-old attacker transferred from Sparta Rotterdam to Alkmaar this winter for five million euros.

“It was very beautiful. I really enjoyed this moment,” Oufkir begins after his debut in front of the camera ESPN. “Everything was beautiful, from the moment I heard: ‘Ayoub, get changed’. Then a lot goes through your head. From that moment you have to turn the switch and give it all or nothing.” The wing attacker was allowed to come on in the 68th minute.

The twenty-year-old attacker did not know in advance whether he could make his debut against Volendam. “It also depends on the match and everything surrounding it, but I thought it was very nice that the trainer let me come in.” Oufkir looks back on his debut with a good feeling. “I think I immediately showed my passing and dribbling. I switched well and took balls. I have to show that every match.”

Oufkir notices that he has taken a step forward with his transfer. “It’s different. The training is different. The level is good. It only makes you better.” The attacker could also count on interest from other clubs. “There were other clubs, but they were not so concrete, both at home and abroad. But I didn’t think long about going to AZ. Everything is great at this club.”

The AZ debutant wanted to prove himself and is already looking ahead to his next opportunities. “But they will happen, I can guarantee that. Today (Saturday, ed.) I was close. It was a shame that my shot went over, but I wanted too much. You saw that too, I think. But good things are coming.”
