That’s Pitchamon Opatniputh, the Thai badminton player who has enchanted badminton fans in the region with her exceptional talent and rare beauty.
Pitchamon is only 19 years old, but shows a lot of potential. He is currently 36th in the Badminton World Federation rankings, just 15 places behind Thuy Linh (28 years old).
The rankings don’t tell the whole story. On the way to the quarter-finals, Thùy Linh also defeated much higher ranked players, such as number seven on the seeding list, Chiu Pin Chian (Taiwan).
Pitchamon made an even stronger impression by convincingly beating the number four seed, Tomoka Miyazaki (Japan), with a surprising score of 21-10, 21-13 in the second round of the tournament.
This victory marks a crucial turning point in the career of Thai badminton’s “hot girl”.
In 2025, Pitchamon made a strong impression by reaching the final of the Taipei Open, a Super 300 tournament. In that match she lost to Miyazaki.

It is worth noting that Thùy Linh reached the final of a Super 300 tournament for the first time over a year ago, at the 2024 German Open. At the time, Thùy Linh was 27 years old.
Thailand has a much stronger badminton base than Vietnam, allowing promising players like Pitchamon to move up quickly from the U20 age group.
At the age of 18, Pitchamon proved that she was capable of reaching the finals of Super 100 and Super 300 tournaments, and now, at the age of 19, the Thai girl is showing that she can break into the Super 500 category as well. Her victory over Miyazaki – another Japanese badminton prodigy – is proof of that.

In addition to his exceptional talent, Pitchamon has also made waves in the regional badminton world since his debut a few years ago, thanks to his good looks and perfect physique (he is 1.70 m tall).
But the Thai player is of course eager to prove that she is not just a famous “badminton talent”, but that she is fully capable of following in the footsteps of illustrious predecessors such as Ratchanok Intanon or Busanan Ongbamrungphan.
The showdown between Thùy Linh and Pitchamon, scheduled for January 23 at noon, promises to be incredibly exciting.
