Meet Pitchamon Opatniputh, the Thai badminton player who has captivated badminton fans in the region with her exceptional talent and rare beauty.
At just 19 years old, Pitchamon shows immense potential, currently ranked 36th in the Badminton World Federation rankings, just 15 places behind Thuy Linh (28).
The ranking doesn’t tell everything. To reach the quarterfinals, Thùy Linh also beat many higher-ranked players, such as number seven seed Chiu Pin Chian (Taiwan).
Pitchamon made an even stronger impression by convincingly defeating fourth seed Tomoka Miyazaki (Japan) with a shocking score of 21-10, 21-13 in the second round of the tournament.
This victory marks a crucial turning point in the career of the “bomb” of Thai badminton.
In 2025, Pitchamon made a strong impression by reaching the final of the Taipei Open, a Super 300 tournament. In this match, she lost to Miyazaki.

It is worth noting that Thùy Linh reached the final of a Super 300 tournament for the first time more than a year ago, during the 2024 German Open. At the time, Thùy Linh was 27 years old.
Thailand has a much stronger badminton structure than Vietnam, allowing promising players like Pitchamon to progress quickly from the under-20 category.
At 18, Pitchamon proved that she was capable of reaching the finals of the Super 100 and Super 300 tournaments, and now, at 19, the young Thai is demonstrating her potential to break into the Super 500 group. Her victory against Miyazaki – another Japanese badminton prodigy – is proof of this.

In addition to his exceptional talent, Pitchamon has also caused a sensation on the regional badminton scene since his debut a few years ago, thanks to his advantageous physique and perfect looks (measuring 1.70 m).
But of course, the Thai player wants to prove that she is not only a famous “badminton bomb”, but that she is entirely capable of following in the footsteps of illustrious predecessors like Ratchanok Intanon or Busanan Ongbamrungphan.
The clash between Thùy Linh and Pitchamon, scheduled for January 23 at noon, promises to be incredibly exciting.
