The skiing legend Therese Johaug, 37, has had her second child.

It was announced at the Norwegian Sports Gala, of all places.

During the sports gala in Norway, Therese Johaug was awarded the evening’s honorary prize. She was not there to receive the award, instead she sent a video greeting to the Norwegian people and guests at the gala.

According to Norwegian VG it was a noticeably moved Johaug who could be seen in the greeting from the hospital bed at Rikssjukhuset.

– I would have liked to be in Hamar with you tonight, but here I am, full of hormones, ready to give birth, I have to thank the jury so much, says Johaug in the greeting, which was recorded earlier on Saturday, according to VG.

Second child

The host of the gala revealed after the video greeting that Johaug had become a mother for the second time and that she gave birth to a boy who will be named Nils.

Together with her husband Nils Jakob Hoff, Therese Johaug already has a daughter. She was born on Norway’s national day, May 17, 2023.

At the gala, the honorary award was awarded to one male and one female athlete. On the men’s side, it was former biathlete Johannes Thinges Bö who had the honor of receiving the award.
