Sweden led 5–3 and played the power play in the third period when Lucas Pettersson went on a late tackle in the high slot.
– It is an assault. He doesn’t have a chance to protect himself. He (the American) just blows him, noted Håkan Loob who expected a match penalty on AJ Spellacy.
“They lost the match”
However, the judges ended up in second place, and after the match both Håkan Loob and his expert colleague Jonas Andersson were critical of the judges.
– There are young players with a lot of testosterone and emotions, packed stands, it is clear that the emotions overflow. The referees lost the match, says Andersson.

– There is such a high tempo and so much framing, but then you have to appoint judges who can handle this. It should not be an educational tournament.
I think the USA fell too easily
Sweden’s Lucas Pettersson – who scored two goals in the match, one of which was in the box play – went off and was replaced immediately after the stoppage but was able to return to the game later in the match.
He was in turn critical of the Americans, who he thought fell too easily in several situations:
– You are not usually allowed to comment on it, but I think they reinforce many situations, he says to SVT Sport.
