Göztepe Coach Stanimir Stoilov said after the Çaykur Rizespor match, “I don’t like to talk about referees. However, it is a shame that two of our players who play regularly have been suspended. At the press conference held after the match, Göztepe Coach Stanimir Stoilov made statements about the match. Stating that they had a valuable victory, Stoilov said, “We had a well-deserved victory against a strong team. I always have hesitations about the starting matches after long breaks. As a matter of fact, even though we won today, many of our players could not reflect their true potential on the field. They performed far from the expected level and we need to change this quickly.”

Drawing attention to the game system and missed opportunities, Stoilov said, “Our game system requires all players to perform at the highest level in every match. We could have scored the second goal after making the score 1-0, but we could not take advantage of the opportunities. Our opponent, Çaykur Rizespor, also caught positions. Since we were much better in terms of defense before, this is not a normal situation for us and we must fix it urgently.”
Stoilov also emphasized the issue of fan support and penalties and said, “In general, I can say that our players played with 80 percent performance on the field. Our fans were with us in the stands with a similar 80 percent occupancy rate. I always state that the penalties affected us negatively; we were missing approximately 5 thousand fans today and 18 thousand in the previous matches. This situation creates a problem, I hope it will not happen again. The victory was valuable, but our players need to return to their high levels as soon as possible. “We will provide it,” he said.

Speaking about the upcoming match and the missing players, Stoilov said; “As you know, I do not like to talk about referees. However, it is sad that two of our players who play regularly are suspended. However, we have other defenders in our squad and this will give them an opportunity to show themselves. These things can happen in football. We will make necessary changes when our players who are used to playing with each other are missing, but our friends who will replace them have also shown good performances before. Even though it is a difficult situation before an important match, there is nothing to worry about. I wish only one of them had been suspended, but we have the power to overcome this situation,” he said.
