Shortly before the end of the game there was a moment of shock at VfB Stuttgart involving Angelo Stiller. The midfield director had to be substituted in the 90th minute against 1. FC Union Berlin and was no longer able to actively witness the final phase on the pitch. Previously, he sat down on the grass after a duel before giving the signal for a substitution.
The exact problems didn’t seem entirely clear, but Stiller grabbed his left thigh while sitting. Chema Andrés came into the game to replace him. It is currently unclear how serious Stiller’s injury is or whether it was just a precautionary measure.
