Soria Badminton: Young Players Win Madrid League Debut | Soriatv.com

This past Sunday the Soria-CS24 Badminton Club took another step in the development of its youth team and debuted in the Madrid Absolute League, with a team made up of players from the sub-19 and sub-17 categories, who must compete against clubs whose lineups are made up of absolute players.

The only objective set by the club is to familiarize the youth players with the format of a team competition and to be able to make a less abrupt transition towards the participation of any of them in the National League in which the club is also immersed.

This first day, the Soria-CS24 Badminton Club faced the first team of the Leganés Badminton Club in Guadarrama, obtaining a creditable victory by three victories to two.

On this occasion, the women of the club had a special role with victories in the singles by María González, in the double by María herself together with Jimena Ayllón to certify the triumph of the confrontation with the victory in the mixed doubles by Jimena and Daniel Marín.

Beyond the victory achieved, which shows the level of the club’s youth system, Manuel Acero, the club’s coach, positively valued the attitude of all the players.

The Soria club is at the head of group D, with the next matches being played on March 8 with a double confrontation.

Prior to this day, on Saturday both Jimena Ayllón and Daniel Marín competed in Palencia in a test counting for the national ranking within the under-17 category.

The balance was very positive since Jimena Ayllón won gold in the singles category and silver in the women’s doubles category. This same metal would be achieved by Daniel Marín in the men’s doubles category.
