The former national team hockey goalkeeper worked in the clubs HKL-MJM Petržalka and LG Doprastav Bratislava. In the jersey of the second-named team, he won all the important trophies.

He started his representative career more than promisingly, with gold from the 1997 European Championship.

“A year later, he won the title of vice-champion of the world, at the same time he was declared the best goalkeeper of the World Cup 1998, he enjoyed the gold at the World Cup 1999, and at the World Cup 2001 he said goodbye to the most valuable jersey with bronze,” enumerates his achievements on the website of the Slovak Hockey Ball Union, which reported on Lohnický’s death.

At the club level, he won the European Champions Cup with LG Doprastav Bratislava in 2000, and with LG he also became the champion of Slovakia.

As early as 2022, he enjoyed the title of world champion with Slovakia’s representative selection at the World Championships in the Masters category.

“He is also a member of the SHbÚ Hall of Fame and the ISBHF – International Street & Ball Hockey Federation,” added the Slovak Hockey Ball Union on the social network.
