He will not have left France for very long. A week after refereeing the match between Marseille and Liverpool in the Champions League, Slavko Vincic will already return to France this Wednesday. This time he will head to the capital to officiate during the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle, the last meeting of the league phase of the European competition.
The Slovenian is full of experience at the highest level. At 46, he has already refereed five matches in the prestigious C1 this year. And these were prestigious meetings, including Real Madrid-Juventus, Chelsea-Barcelona or Benfica-Naples. He was therefore also on the whistle during the slap received by OM against the Reds (0-3).
He refereed Paris twice last season
Last year, Slavko Vincic refereed Paris Saint-Germain twice. The first time dates back to the league phase match against Arsenal, lost by the Parisians without Ousmane Dembélé (2-0). He officiated in the same match, this time played in the semi-finals and won by PSG (0-1). He therefore leaves a beautiful memory for Luis Enrique’s men.
The Slovenian also has a good CV in international competitions. He thus refereed the semi-final of Euro 2024 between Spain and France which turned to the advantage of La Roja. He was on the whistle again during the Blues’ match against Ukraine last November.
