BERN – Olympique Lyon soccer players won a direct promotion to the round of 16 of the Europa League. It was decided by their victory in the 7th round of the league phase at Young Boys Bern 1:0.
Aston Villa is also assured of a place in the top eight after a 1-0 win at Fenerbahce Istanbul. The last round of the league stage is scheduled for a week on January 29.
Slovak goalkeeper Dominik Greif did not catch this time for the French club, Remy Descamps was given priority. Lyon has 18 points, the same as the English team. The match in Istanbul was decided by Jadon Sancho, defender Milan Škriniar played the entire duel in the home team’s jersey.
Feyenoord Rotterdam defeated Austrian Sturm Graz 3:0 at home, Slovak representative Leo Sauer came on the field in the 71st minute.
Weakened Plzeň only lost their win at the end
Pilsen footballers are still without a loss. They led 1:0 over FC Porto with a goal by Lukáš Červ in the 6th minute, but at the end of the half, Matěj Vydra went under the showers prematurely. The best eight teams advance directly to the round of 16 of the Europa League. Another sixteen in 9th – 24th place are fighting for the elimination part in the play off. Participation in the competition ends for the last twelve teams.
