This year, the matches of the Six Nations Tournament, which opens Thursday February 5 with the long-awaited France-Ireland, will be, in France, shared between two broadcasters. A first since 1981.
France Télévisions, historic broadcaster of the competition, in financial difficulty, has in fact sold nine of its fifteen matches to TF1, already the exclusive broadcaster of matches of the French XV during the last autumn tour.

Two pairs of commentators will officiate on TF1: the journalist Stefan Etcheverry and the former French international and current general director of the Stade Français Thomas Lombard for the biggest posters (England-Wales, Scotland-England, England-Ireland, Scotland-France and Ireland-Scotland).
The second duo, new, will be composed of journalist Pierre Daudiès and former international Xavier Garbajosa, who will officiate Ireland-Italy, Wales-Scotland and Italy-England. The Blues’ match in Cardiff will be commented on by the Etcheverry-Garbajosa duo.

There are therefore only six left for France 2, which was still able to keep the best posters.
