Journalist Josh Yohe of the North American media “The Athletic” has evaluated the Pittsburgh Penguins player of the National Hockey League (NHL), including Arthur Shilova performance.

In July 2025, the Latvian goalkeeper was traded from the Vancouver Canucks to the Penguins. In 17 games for Pittsburgh last year, he shot 88.8% and averaged 3.21 rebounds, helping the team to six wins.

“A great start, a terrible fall in November and December, but it seems that he has recovered a little. I will remind you that Artur is 24 years old and he represents a team with a rather weak defense. He was not bad, but no more,” describes the goalkeeper’s performance.

It should be reminded that in the first game of 2026, “Penguins” beat Detroit “Red Wings” 4:3 in extra time, Shilov saving 24 of 27 shots.

With 45 points in 39 games, the “Penguins” are outside the play-off zone of the Eastern Conference, one point behind it.
