During his six-month stay at OL, Martin Satriano did not make an impression. Arriving at the very end of the transfer window on loan from RC Lens, the Uruguayan striker was keen to shine in Lyon. In the end, nothing went as planned. Initially arriving as a replacement, the former Inter Milan player was finally promoted to the starting position following the surprise departure of Georges Mikautadze at the very end of the transfer window. As a starter, Satriano has never been satisfactory. Despite honest performances and an impeccable state of mind, the number 20 of Les Gones seemed incapable of scoring for a long time.
Apart from a goal against Salzburg in the Europa League and a double against Nantes in Ligue 1, the Uruguayan’s record was poor in the Rhône. And with the arrival of Endrick this winter, his future has become murky at Groupama Stadium. Thus, the Rhone leaders considered the prospect of exercising his purchase option in order to make him leave. Courted in Spain, Satriano therefore had several exit options available to him. Finally, the operation quickly came together and Satriano was permanently recruited by OL before being loaned to Getafe immediately.
Satriano conquers Spain
With his fighting record on the field, Satriano had the weapons to establish himself in the Madrid team, renowned for being rough on the pitch. Fitting perfectly with the philosophy of Bordalas’ men, the 24-year-old striker could perform. And after an average first appearance against Valencia (1-0 defeat) last week, Satriano put in a good performance this Monday against Girona. Aligned at the forefront of the attack alongside Luis Vazquez, the former Brest player played the entire match. Even if he was not decisive, his combativeness and his ability to shine in the collective game of his team pleased the other side of the Pyrenees.
