Again represented by the under-20, the Botafogo face the Sampaio Corrêa this Sunday (18/1), at 8:30 pm, at Lourivaldão Stadium, in Saquarema, for the second round of the Carioca Championship. Glorioso debuted with a victory last Thursday over Portuguesa, on Ilha do Governador.
The black and white team led by Rodrigo Bellão this time will not have players from the professional squad, who are still in Rio in pre-season. In the debut, Raul started, and Mateo Ponte, Newton, Jordan Barrera and Matheus Martins entered in the second half. Cristhian Loor should make his debut in goal.
Botafogo’s plans are to use the main squad for the first time, led by coach Martín Anselmi, next Wednesday (21/1), against Volta Redonda, at the Nilton Santos Stadium, in the third round of Carioca and one week away from the debut in the Brazilian Championship.

Sampaio Corrêa is competing in the first division of Carioca for the third time in a row and, last year, won the Taça Rio.
