Samoilova & Graudiņa: Latvia’s Beach Volleyball Victory

For the third year in a row, these results were compiled by the “Sandcast Podcast”, hosted by “Volleyball World TV” commentator and popular beach volleyball journalist Travis Mewhirter (the official World Tour Annual Awards were last given in 2019).

The teams that made it into the top four of the world championship claimed the title of the team of the year. In the players’ evaluation, the Latvian tandem beat the Brazilians Tamela and Viktorija by one vote, the journalist reveals. The voting took place after the world championship, where Graudiņa/Samoilova won the gold. Meanwhile, in the men’s competition, the team of the year is the world runner-up.

Tīna Graudiņa won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) vote by a very small margin. Brazilian Victoria, American Kristen Nass, Canadian Brandi Wilkerson and Brazilian Carole also competed here.
