Salisu Injury: Ligue 1 Star Ruled Out With ACL Tear

Monaco’s Ghanaian international defender, Mohammed Salisu, suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee on Saturday at the end of the match against Lyon (1-3), the Principality club announced this Monday evening.

Salisu26 years old, strong man in the Monegasque defense since the arrival of the coach Sébastien Pocognoliin October, instead of Adi Hütterwas injured in a final duel in the final seconds of the game against Lyon. He had not been replaced and had not shown any fear regarding this injury.

But on Sunday, the player felt more severe pain and the tests taken on Monday confirmed a rupture of the cruciate ligaments in his left knee.

Salisu should have surgery soon. His season with Monaco is already over, while its participation in the next World Cupfor which the Ghana is qualified, seems very improbable.

After the Japanese international Takumi Minaminoon December 21 at Auxerre in French Cup, Salisu is the second Monegasque victim of the same injury in three weeks.
