In the end it even became historic. For the first time ever, the Rostock Seawolves basketball players recorded a victory at Telekom Baskets Bonn. It was also the fourth success in a row for the North Germans in the Basketball Bundesliga. The Wolves thus consolidated seventh place in the table. It was 81:77 at the final siren in the Telekom Dome. “To be honest, these minus four points are almost a small miracle,” said a disappointed Bonn coach Marko Stankovic after the game, “they perhaps even deserved to win by a larger margin.”
They would have, yes. After all, the Rostock team played a very strong first half, even leading by 20 points at one point, even if there were a few mistakes in their game. But the home team also lost a lot of the ball, so that the Wolves, for whom TJ Crockett Jr. scored the most points (19), were able to punish them coldly again and again.
64 percent shooting rate, six of 13 three-pointers converted – Rostock’s first half of the game was really good. They looked fresher than the home team and showed a strong reaction to the defeat in Sopot (Euro League) a few days ago.

“We controlled the game very well for maybe half of the game. Unfortunately, in the other half we allowed them very easy points from the quick attack,” said Seawolves coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz. “In the end we got a little nervous and lost too many balls. We panicked a little because we realized we could win away from home.”
Telekom Baskets Bonn are coming to the town hall
The Bonn team actually came closer point by point in the last few minutes, but they were no longer able to prevent the Seawolves from winning a well-deserved victory. The next meeting between the two opponents will take place next Saturday (January 31st). The Rostock team will then welcome the Telekom Baskets Bonn in their local town hall at 6.30 p.m. to kick off the second half of the season.
