A great match by Pallacanestro Roseto Liofilchem is not enough to be able to snatch two points from PalaDozza in Bologna against Fortitudo: the hosts prevail after 40 minutes of great balance and a lot of intensity. 40 minutes played with the right attitude but it didn’t help against one of the big names in the championship, despite the heavy absences like Moore and Imbrò: a defeat that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth also because the penultimate place is now 4 points away after Ruvo’s victory in Pistoia, but with 18 races to go everything is still absolutely open.
A match in which Roseto never gave up, from minus 11 in the second period to the strong break in the last ten minutes: the decision was certainly made by the great Gianluca Della Rosa with 25 points and 6 triples scored, well supported by Fantinelli (double double with 18 points and 10 assists). In the Biancazzurri home, 5 in double figures at the end of the match, the best was Justin Robinson with 22 points, 8 assists and 29 rating, 14 and 9 rebounds for Cannon, 10 each for the trio made up of Cinciarini-Petrovic and Timperi.
Substantial balance in the first part of the match with Fantinelli and Timperi on top, 12-9 at the 5th, 24-21 at the end of the period. Second half that opens with the Bolognese break thanks to Moretti and Fantinelli again, 32-21: Roseto returns with Robinson who puts two triples in a row for 32-29, then Della Rosa and Petrovic are equal and write 46-43 at the interval.
Third period that opens with the Fortitudo partial of 8-2, the biancazzurri come back with a counter-break of 0-8 thanks to Laquintana and Cannon: Caja time out at 54-53, Roseto has the lead twice, doesn’t take advantage of it, Della Rosa then takes care of it together with Moretti to write 61-55, and then 65-59 at the end of the quarter with two points from Tsetserukou. The last ten minutes open with Donadoni’s triple to make Roseto minus 3, De Vico and Sarto respond with the same amount and then Sabatino with the first points for 73-69 in the 33rd. Moretti crushes for +9, it seems over but it’s not like that: Timperi and Cannon reduce the deficit to minus 5, 80-75 in the 36th, Laquintana with the triple at minus 4; again the offensive rebounds condemn Roseto, Sorokas for the +6, Cannon makes no mistake from the line, 84-80 with 1.40 to go, with Robinson who misses the triple of minus 1. Then from the line Bologna is glacial with the various Della Rosa and Moretti the final result of 89-85.
