It’s not a big surprise, but there is finally certainty. Liam Rosenior will leave Racing Strasbourg and will most likely be the new head coach of Chelsea FC. At a press conference on Tuesday morning, the 48-year-old said: “I was fully focused on Strasbourg’s last game, but something has happened since then: I’ve been accepted by one of the biggest clubs in the world – the reigning World Club Champions. It’s an honor to speak to such a club and today it looks like I’ll soon be the coach of this football club.”
Rosenior appreciates his time in Strasbourg: “The last 18 months have been a joy. There are moments in life when you have to make decisions that you can’t resist. I will love this club for the rest of my life.” The Englishman has been on the sidelines at RC since the summer of 2024 and coached his team in 63 competitive games. In the future he will do his job in the Premier League. The opportunity to join the Blues is unique for Rosenior: “I just can’t turn down this opportunity to join such a great club and such an incredible team, who are also CWC champions. Plus, I get to go home to my kids.”
