Rodrigues Returns: Earthquakes Star Back to Brazil | MLS News

Rodrigues, 28 years old, has negotiations underway with Mirassol and is already undergoing medical examinations.

The defender should be announced soon as Mirassol’s new reinforcement, with negotiations at an advanced stage. The player is already in the city in the interior of São Paulo to undergo medical examinations.

The negotiation information was initially released by ge.globo and confirmed by Território MLS.

After good seasons in the United States, Rodrigues returns to Brazilian football to compete in the Libertadores, in an important step in his career. At 28 years old, the defender returns to the country after three and a half years playing in MLS.

Rodrigues arrived at San Jose Earthquakes in the middle of 2022 and quickly established himself as one of the main pieces of the team’s defensive sector.

In total, there were 102 matches played with the Quakes shirt, with five goals scored and three assists.

In addition to his offensive numbers, the defender presented excellent defensive indicators and was a key player in the Californian club’s recent reconstruction process.

With his physical presence, good ball release and regularity, Rodrigues established himself as a starter for much of his time at San Jose.

Now, Rodrigues says goodbye to MLS to start a new chapter in Brazilian football.

The defender reinforces Mirassol in a historic moment for the club, which is preparing to compete in South America’s main continental competition for the first time.
