And this has unleashed a string of political reactions, with independence pushing hard against the State’s management of railway infrastructure. Together he has said “enough” for “constant delays, full trains, breakdowns, excuses and accidents” and has gone further: this Wednesday he has demanded the urgent appearance in Parliament of the Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, and in Congress of the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente. The reason is “the crisis of Rodalies, the poor management of the railway crisis and the collapse of infrastructure in Catalonia”.

In the same sense, the leader of ERC, Oriol Junqueras, has regretted the State’s “non-investment” for a long time and has claimed the need to carry out one of the agreements stolen by his party: the transfer of Rodalies to a joint venture shared between the Generalitat and the State. “Accidents caused by natural causes are uncontrollable, but the non-investment, the State’s neglect of the Rodalies service in Catalonia is what causes the entire service to stop today due to fear, mistrust and the inability of the company itself to guarantee the safety of workers and users,” he said.

On the other hand, the Councilor of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, with interim functions of the President due to the illness of Salvador Illa, has called for understanding: “Whenever possible, we try to reduce travel”, he stated in a publication in X, thanking the citizen collaboration.
