Riga Marathon 2024: Runner Preparation Begins | Lente.lv

The participants of the “My First Marathon” program have started intense preparation

This year’s “Rimi” Riga Marathon program “My First Marathon” has selected a team of 12 ambassadors who are not professional athletes, but supporters of a healthy lifestyle. As Latvian Public Media informs, they will prepare for their first serious long-distance challenge for 16 weeks, under the guidance of certified coaches and specialists – either a half-marathon (21.1 km) or a full marathon (42.2 km). This program is not only an opportunity for participants to achieve their physical goals, but also to inspire others to follow a healthy lifestyle.

Individual training plans and specialist support

Each of the 12 ambassadors will have an individual training plan tailored to their abilities and goals. The coaches will provide the necessary support and advice throughout the preparation process, helping to prepare not only physically, but also mentally for the upcoming challenge. This in-depth support is an essential part of the program to ensure participants’ safety and progress.

Newspapers as a source of inspiration

Participants will actively reflect their preparation progress on social media, thus inspiring others to turn to running and an active lifestyle. Their experiences, challenges and successes will serve as motivation for other program participants as well as the wider community. For some of the “Rimi” ambassadors, the Riga Marathon will be the first serious test of running, while others already have some experience in running, which allows them to share valuable advice.
