Rifalk: From Rögle to Finland – New Content Writer Role

There won’t be any more.

In the spring of 2019, Christoffer Rifalk took Oskarshamn to the SHL in a promotion that shocked all of hockey Sweden.

Even the players didn’t think it was possible, and already during the previous match series against AIK, Rifalk had finished with the SHL team Rögle, who finally had to buy Rifalk from Oskarshamn.

In Rögle, he has become an established SHL goalkeeper and in the first years he was a great success. Since Arvid Holm joined the club, however, he has been more and more sidelined, and has only played twelve games this season.

– Obviously he plays most of the matches, but I think I have played well in the matches I have had to stand. Then there is not much more to it, says Rifalk.

This season will also be the last in the green and white suit for Norrbotten. The contract expires this spring and there will be no continuation. Instead, a move to the east awaits, and games in Finland. According to Expressen’s sources, it is not yet completely clear which club it will be, but two are far ahead in the race for Rifalk’s signature. It is about Helsinki IFK and Ilves.

– Well, my focus is here, and I have no comments about clubs or anything else now. I just want to have as good a season as I can with Rögle and then we’ll see.

How much have you talked about the future with Hampus Sjöström?

– We have had our discussions and know where we stand. What it lands in, that’s something we’ll have to deal with later.

But you know what to do?

– There is little to decide on. But as I said, it’s not something I want to focus on, but my focus is to do it as well as I can when I get the chance to stand, says Christoffer Rifalk.
