REUTLINGEN. Tennis Germany should have this young guy from Reutlingen on their list. His name: Luiz Bauer, born in 2014. The eleven-year-old is considered a top talent and has been in first place among U12 juniors throughout Germany in the new rankings of the German Tennis Association (DTB) since the beginning of the year. A great honor and, above all, a reward for the young left-hander’s previous successes.
Just last August, the son of Thorsten Bauer, president of the Young Boys Reutlingen, caused a stir by winning the title in the U11 age group at the German Junior Tennis Tournament in Lemgo, the unofficial German championships. In the past, numerous greats of German tennis have entered the list of winners at the most important national tournament for the U12, U11, U10 and U9 age groups. Among others, Steffi Graf, Boris Becker, Alexander Zverev, Angelique Kerber and Tommy Haas triumphed at this tournament. Laura Siegemund from Metzing also won there (1997).
The sixth-grader from Reutlingen’s Johannes-Kepler-Gymnasium is now also on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour – the highest level in European junior tennis up to the U16 age group. On the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, Bauer competes against the best players in his age group from all over Europe. Next week the 11-year-old will be playing at a tournament in Biel/Switzerland.
As a younger generation, Emma Glaser is ranked sixth in the new German rankings for U18 juniors.

The achievements of Emma Glaser (TC Markwasen) from Genking are just as worth mentioning. Remarkable: As a younger age group, Glaser is ranked sixth in the new German rankings for U18 juniors. The 16-year-old, who played in first place for the women of TV Reutlingen in the Württemberg League last season, was crowned German doubles champion (U18) in November 2025. The ranking for the U18 juniors is led by Mariella Thamm (Heidelberger TC). The 16-year-old is considered the most promising talent in German women’s tennis. She is currently ranked 626th in the world rankings.
