Luis Figo gave advice to Real Madrid so that it doesn’t get worse after changing coach to Alvaro Arbeloa.

BOLASPORT.COM – Real Madrid received advice from its former star, Luis Figo, so as not to decline further after the change of coach.

January 12 2026 will be the moment of farewell for Real Madrid and Xabi Alonso as coach.

Both parties agreed to ‘divorce’ after about eight months of collaboration.

This separation occurred one day after Madrid lost 2-3 to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.

“Based on a mutual agreement between the club and Xabi Alonso, it has been decided (both parties) to end his tenure as first team coach,” read a club statement.

After Alonso’s departure, Alvaro Arbeloa was appointed as Madrid’s new coach.

However, his debut with the Los Blancos main team ended dismal.

Arbeloa had to watch Madrid be humiliated with a score of 2-3 by the Spanish second caste team, Albacete, in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey.

The change of coach and the defeat of the ‘dwarf team’ put El Real in the spotlight.

Luis Figo also gave encouragement so that his former club could finish the season safely.
