Replacing Xabi Alonso with Alvaro Arbeloa does not appear to be able to resolve Real Madrid’s entrenched problems. More than the responsibility of the coach, they have stemmed, for a while, from poor sporting planning, a collective deficit and a far too smug attitude from the players.
