Continuation of our NFL predictions for week 18 with this Rams – Cardinals prediction. A 100% NFC West meeting which will be especially important for the Los Angeles Rams.
Qualified for the playoffs for several weeks, the Los Angeles Rams had to say goodbye to the division title during week 17. The cause was a defeat on Monday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons. A poor performance which put an end to the hopes of a division title for the Rams. Likewise, the Rams know that they will no longer be able to claim the first pick either. However, the Rams must win to hope to move up to the number 5 seed. A ranking which could offer them a more “lenient” opponent during the first round of the playoffs.
For the Arizona Cardinals, eyes are already on the next NFL season. Jonathan Gannon’s men are freewheeling at the end of the season and have had a series of spectacular defeats. There will be many questions for the Cardinals this offseason. Starting with the case of the quarterback since the future of Kyler Murray in Arizona seems more threatened than ever. But in the meantime, the Cardinals have one last game to play. To take on the role of referee until the end at the end of the 2025 regular season.
Notre pronostic Rams – Cardinals
Our Rams – Cardinals prediction: The Los Angeles Rams win by 6 points or more in the 1st half at 1.72 on Winamax
The Los Angeles Rams are certainly qualified for the playoffs but the last two defeats were not really to the taste of Sean McVay, the head coach of the Californian franchise. This last match of the season must therefore, above all else, allow the Rams to get back on track. Because arriving in the playoffs with positive momentum is never an ideal thing.
A real dilemma then arose for the Rams coaching staff: should we play the starters in this meeting with limited stakes? It should be remembered that the Rams will play their first round of the playoffs next week away. Therefore, a little rest could have been a good solution. However, Sean McVay answered this question very simply. He will play the starters as long as he is not satisfied with the level of play displayed. The Rams’ desire is clear: have a big first half, get ahead and rest the starters during the second half.
This is good since the Cardinals appear as the ideal victim in the first period. Arizona players conceded 23 points in the first half against the Bengals and the Texans, 16 against the Falcons or even 24 in the first meeting of the season between the Rams and the Cardinals! Therefore Los Angeles should be able to take off in the first 30 minutes of play.
Odds and probabilities of victory
Unsurprisingly, the Los Angeles Rams are clear favorites for this meeting. The bookmakers offer Matthew Stafford’s teammates an 80% chance of winning. Opposite, the Arizona Cardinals only have a 20% chance of victory.
