Raba Injury: Misses Copa del Rey Match – Valencia CF

Valencia will be without Raba for tonight’s Copa del Rey last-16 at Burgos after tests revealed an oedema in his left soleus.

In his pre-match press conference, Carlos Corberán described Raba as a doubt due to Achilles and soleus discomfort, with further tests planned. According to AS, he has stayed in Valencia and did not travel to El Plantío. He has not featured in LaLiga and has scored two goals in the competition.

The squad convened at 10.30 at Paterna to board the team bus to the airport before heading to Burgos. Corberán is also without Agirrezabala, Diakhaby and Thierry, who like Raba are sidelined by injuries.

To fill out the list, the coach has called up Vicente Abril, Rubo Iranzo and Panach from the B team. Iranzo is expected to start at right-back, covering for Thierry and allowing Foulquier to rest before Sunday’s trip to Getafe, and he can also play centrally.

Valencia will stay overnight in Burgos because the airport will be closed after the match, returning tomorrow morning. On arrival they will go straight to Paterna to prepare for Getafe on Sunday at 14:00 at the Coliseum.
